The congregation and staff of
Groesbeck

Church
welcome those planning to unite in marriage. It is our prayer that your wedding be beautiful, meaningful and truly blessed. We believe your wedding is a sacred occasion. It will be most meaningful to you when there is careful planning. We are here to help. For this reason, we offer the following guidelines and procedures relating to weddings at

INITIAL GUIDELINES:
* We are compelled to uphold the integrity of scripture here at

Church.
As a result we do not feel comfortable marrying couples that are living together and engaged in sexual intimacy. We believe scripture teaches counter to this situation.
* We are compelled to uphold the integrity of scripture here at
If couples are willing to live apart, repent (i.e. stop engaging in sexual intimacy) and work through premarital preparation, we feel we could perform the wedding with integrity.
For those couples who have been married in a civil ceremony and would be willing to go through premarital preparation to discover God's will for their marriage, the pastors would be willing to consecrate their marriage in the church.
* Premarital counseling is not an option, but a requirement. The cost of these sessions is included in the pastor's fee.
THE NEXT STEP:
If you have met or agree to the above guidelines then the next step is to set up a meeting with one of the church's Pastors who will perform the counseling and the ceremony. Please come into the church office to pick up the necessary paperwork which includes a Wedding Information sheet and Fee Worksheet and you can set up a meeting with one of our Pastors at that time.
At the initial meeting with the Pastor you will discuss the proposed date for the wedding, the issue of monies, counseling and any other pertinent information.
Groesbeck

offers these guidelines in the hope they will help you decide if we are the church to have and the staff to preside over your wedding.
It is our desire and hope that you understand that we are compelled to scriptural integrity out of love for our God and others and not out of judgment toward anyone outside our church or the Christian faith.
